Racing Club Warwick Fc

Racing Club Warwick took their recent good form up to Cannock and put in a commanding performance against Heath Hayes. Smith struck a post on two minutes after turning and shooting and then a defense splitting pass from Knight saw Smiths shot superbly saved by the keeper. Baigent saw an effort just over the top before Heath Hayes had their first attempt on goal with Reynolds blocking a shot which fell nicely to the forward whos shot was tipped onto the bar by Dowling and cleared off the line by Buswell. Baigent again slipped in Smith but the keeper foiled again. Malley and Smith came close again with shots cleared off the line and Buswell shot high from a far post corner and it looked like one of them nights. The second half was barely a minute old when Dowling raced off his line and upended the forward and was awarded a red card. Skipper Reynold dropped into goal but Racing kept two up top and continued to dominate with ten men. Smith raced down the right and put in a cross which Malley controlled on his chest, nodded past the last man and volleyed into the far corner of the net. Morton put in a through ball but Smith could only hit the keeper and Brown cut inside but his shot was cleared off the line and a Brown corner flashed across the goal mouth. Heath Hayes applied pressure last five minutes but Racing looked comfortable and go back to Staffordhsire on Saturday looking to move into the top half of the table and that valued FA cup place for next season.
